The core of every successful SFP program. Two days of training prepares your staff to recruit families and deliver SFP with fidelity.

Certified SFP Group Leader Training and Advanced SFP Group Leader Training are the keys to successful SFP implementations. Training assures program quality, advances best practices, and assures cultural competence and congruence. It prepares your staff to deliver SFP in your community with the resources available to you and your families.

Ahearn Greene Associates, LLC is the sole authorized source for SFP (Birth–3, 3–5, 6–11, 12–16) Group Leader Training.

What trainees learn

  1. The background of SFP as an evidence-based family skills training program
  2. How to determine eligibility and recruit and enroll the families your agency serves
  3. Practical requirements for delivering SFP, including meals, host site and support staff
  4. Hands-on instruction and practice in delivering SFP to families

Participants receive a Certificate of Completion for 12 hours of training and meet SFP Fidelity Guidelines for staff training.

Advanced and international training

Advanced SFP Implementation & Staff Training is a follow-up after your first SFP cycles, custom designed around your agency’s experience, strengths and challenges.

International training and support is available for agencies outside North America. SFP-certified trainers deliver culturally specific training in the trainees’ language, in partnership with the implementing agency, with ongoing technical assistance for fidelity and evaluation.

How long is the training?
Two days, typically 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, for a total of 12 training hours.
Where is it held?
In-person trainings are hosted at your agency’s site. Virtual trainings are held on Zoom.
How many staff can we train?
Up to 25 or 35 trainees in person, depending on the option, or up to 20 participants virtually.
What does it cost?
Fees depend on the number of participants, the format, and trainer travel. Request a quote and we’ll reply within one or two business days.
Do we need to buy the curriculum separately?
Yes. Each site that delivers SFP needs its own SFP Curriculum Master Set ($450 per master set). See curriculum.
Is SFP available in Spanish?
Yes. SFP curricula are available in English and Spanish, and the parent evaluation questionnaire has been translated into many other languages.
How soon can we schedule?
Training dates are usually readily available to meet your agency’s schedule.
